The Inn at the Lake

The Inn at the Lake is ten room bed and breakfast located on Lake San Cristobal just outside of the town of Lake City, Colorado.

The Inn is run by David and Rosie Whitelock, of Whitelock Ministries, who opened the Inn in 2004, and are thrilled to spend every summer here, meeting new guests and making life-long friends all while enjoying some of the most beautiful views in God’s creation.

Having grown up in Houston Texas, Rosie earned a Sociology degree at Houston Baptist University and a Masters in Philosophy of Religion at Denver Seminary. David, also a native Houstonian, is a graduate of Rice University and Dallas Seminary. For 35 years they ministered at Camp Peniel, a Christian Youth Camp, in Marble Falls, Texas, where they formed many lasting friendships, until, through a series of miracles God directed them to the Inn at the Lake.

As they began looking for post retirement ministry opportunities God enabled them to purchase the Inn through an unbelievable gift ($500,000) from a dear friend, Bill Gleason (pictured at left), the generosity of the Murphy families, the former owners who sold them the Inn for much less than its worth, and another cash gift from former Quail Valley Community Church friends. The Bell family donated a truck and David and Rosie were on their way to Lake City to welcome all who come to the Inn to experience the unconditional love of Jesus Christ in those beautiful mountains.
